Hey all welcome to March Madness! Everyone’s favourite college sporting occasion. Well, ok its my favourite college sporting occasion!! A time where anything can happen. This year the field has been expanded to 68 teams for the first time ans sees arguably one of the weakest fields ever for a March Madness Tournament. There are 5 14 loss teams in the field and there where only 6 in the previous 15 years! So this really is anyones year. So who’s your pick? Are you going with one of the 1 seeds like Ohio State or are you going with a 3 seed like Purdue?
Picking your own bracket is makes it fun. Gives all the games a little edge, like betting but with out the financial investment! This investment is for bragging only! Simple pleasures.
There are many simple pleasures in life, the first coffee of the morning, the sound of a bird singing when you leave the house or even just the right bus being there when you get to your bus stop. All of these things happened to me this morning and all of them made me feel like the world was a great place. And I’ll tell you why, simple pleasure.
I was at Stamford Bridge last night and witnessed Chelsea overcoming Man Utd. As a life long Chelsea fan, there was a lot of relief and a great amount of pleasure derived from this victory. Whether it’s bragging rights over friends or whether it’s just watching your team beat their most important rivals the spring that it places in your step, I believe, can only be placed there by sport. It never ceases to amaze me the simple joy that can come into your life through a game. I’ve had a smile on my face ever since and even though this is not the best season for us, part of me is saying, at least we got one over on the Mancs!.
I’m sure that this is the same for many of you out there. Whether it be Red Sox and Yankees fans or Green Bay and Chicago fans, you must know the feeling. The ones that says if we can’t win it at least we can stop them from winning it. Simple pleasures!

Spring is here….. sort of!
With the baseball season sort of under way with full squads now reporting for duty, the NBA trade deadline fast approaching and March Madness only just more than a week away then surely it is time for spring. Join us here at Bodeans as we cover all these and more with Champions League and also the cricket world cup here as well. Ah so much sport it makes me a little giddy!
So who is going to get the vote in your bracket, please tell me as I have no idea and it will soon be time for me to place my lucky pin on a piece of paper!

Februarys wistful dreams.
With the Superbowl done and dusted it’s back to the dreaming stage for the sports fan. With the play-offs yet to come in the NHL and the NBA we can only think of would could be not what will be. Pitchers and Catchers are now starting to report to there teams and the sound of summer starts up with spring training. Did you team do enough over the winter to become a challenger? or are your team like my Mariners, who are in a rebuilding phase?
Time will tell. but now it is back to dreaming of what can be. A sports fans favourite pastime.

Playoffs… Now even more serious!
Welcome to the weekend and we have the big games from over the pond this weekend. The playoffs are getting a lot more serious with this seasons big boys coming out to play. We have the Baltimore @ Pittsburgh match up on Saturday night and what will Big Ben be able to do against the Ravens hard playing defense? Myself I’ll be pulling for the Steelers. Then when most of us will be asleep the Jets take on the Patriots in a match you just can’t see losing. Can you?
Then on Sunday we get to SEA! @ Chicago, let’s go hawks!. This is followed by the Packers @ Falcons and I believe that the Packers will pull a little upset here.
If that is not enough then we have live Premeirship football on at Soho with 3 back to back games, including the Birmingham derby, the Liverpool derby and Spurs v Man U. Huge games one and all.
Also at Fulham before all the NFL takes over tonight watch Sydney and his boys from Pittsburgh, take on the Bruins in an all action packed live hockey game at 6.

Playoffs!
Well after the excitement of last night what will todays games bring. personally I’m going for the Ravens and the Eagles to march into the next round, but after one of the worst teams in pllayoff history SEA!! knocked out the reigning champs who nows what will happen. It’s why we love the playoffs!
Also join us on Tuesday for reruns of the BCS bowl matchup of Auburn and Oregon, bringing and end to the college football season. Don’t worry though as only 6 weeks till March!

Weekend Dec 18/19
With the Snowpocalypse taking away most of the British sport action for the weekend, why not come down and join us for some live College Basketball and Football on Saturday and then some live NFL on Sunday.
It maybe early in the season for the kids playing basketball but everyone will be after Dukes number 1 spot to get themselves the best ranking they can for March Maddness. See Kansas play USC live and Baylor play Gonzaga in the big games today.
With only 3 weeks left of the regular season and playoff spots open in both leagues, this weekend could see some season changing results. Can Mark Sanchez and his Jets re-find his form and take down Big Ben and the Steelers. Also on display is the big clash of the NFC East with the Eagles taking on the Giants.
Also if you can’t get enough of the NFL then why don’t you try Tower on Monday as they will be showing more of the action all day, including the Packers against the Patriots

Summer is Here
With the summer being here, that means the World cup is nearly here. Look forward to all the action being shown at Bodeans, but if you can’t make it then don’t forget about our BBQ packs. Get yourself some of our presmoked meats and make your BBQ one they won’t forget.
Also look out for the baseball games, the season is starting to warm up, as we ssee who will be buyers and who will be selling coming into the All-Star break. (Cliff Lee anyone!)
